2023 Volkswagen ID.4

2023 Volkswagen ID.4

The 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 is one of the strongest competitors in the EV market and a favourite among EV fans. Buyers can purchase the EV crossover SUV at a very reasonable price. The manufacturer has made some improvements, including a larger touchscreen, a new 62-kWh battery in the entry model, and faster DC charging.

Glowing VW logos are now standard across the ID.4 range, and the 48.26cm wheels get a Drammen refresh. Continue reading to find out more about what else we found out about this great vehicle!

Trims and Pricing

You’ll be able to purchase the ID.4 in three trims. The entry-level ID.4 has a starting price of $43,995. The middle trim is the ID.4 Pro, which can be purchased at $47,995. The top-level ID.4 Pro AWD has a starting price of $52,995.

Battery Packs and Performance

You’ll notice that the ID.4 costs $4,000 less than the ID.4 Pro. According to VW, this is due to the newly installed 64-kWh battery pack that’s considerably smaller and less costly to manufacture. Although this battery has less capacity, it can still give you a maximum range of 336.3km on a full charge with the single rear-wheel drive motor, which is substantially decent.

You can also expect a maximum horsepower of 201 and 229 pound-feet of torque. The SUV can zip from zero to 100km/h in 7.7 seconds. The acceleration is exceptionally smooth and considerably better for city or highway driving than gas-powered SUVs.

The upper models have an 82-kWh battery pack. This gives the vehicle an extended maximum range of 410km. The Pro is available in rear-wheel drive only. Buying the Pro AWD will give you all-wheel drive capabilities and a much better grip on icy or wet roads. The enlarged capacity gives the SUV more power (an increased horsepower at 295), enabling it to get from zero to 100km/h in just 5.4 seconds.

The newly improved batteries will also charge your vehicle faster. The DC charging capacity has increased significantly from 135kW to 170kW. Say goodbye to range anxiety by charging the ID.4 from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes, giving you a range of 100km.

Another innovation in the ID.4 is the regenerative braking system. This system very cleverly stores kinetic energy every time you brake. This stored energy allows the battery pack to charge regeneratively and makes your driving experience more efficient.

Interior and Technology

The ID.4 can now be purchased in white interior colour with a 30.48cm larger infotainment touchscreen with interactive navigation, voice, and gesture commands. The ID.4 light bar that runs across the dash is intuitive (called the ID), and it uses visual glowing cues for brake warnings, phone calls, charge status, and other functions.
